WINTER CONNECTION

A Gentle Reminder About Balance & Self-Care

If you’re someone who thrives on routine and structure—you might already get it. You’re halfway there. You know what needs to be done. This is simply your reminder to pause… take a breath… and ask yourself what you need today.

I’m not talking about the to-do list. Yes, there are responsibilities—jobs, family, commitments that matter deeply. But let us not forget our true meaning for existence. Let us not lose sight of how deeply interconnected we all are.

This weekend, watching the venerable monks from Texas became my reminder. A reminder to stop and reflect on what I need in order to keep showing up—for the work, for the people I love, and for the life I’m building. Not just doing, but remembering why I’m doing it all.

Today was icy. Roads were closed. Movement slowed. So I walked through town instead. Wrapped in quiet. Fresh air. A soft blanket of snow. Breathing in that cold, clean air felt like medicine. It was exactly what my soul needed.

Self-care isn’t indulgence. It’s alignment. It’s how we stay connected to meaning, to purpose, and to ourselves.

Pause. Breathe. Listen.
